Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh denied claims of an Iranian Mothership launching drones into United States airspace. This claim was first floated on television by Republican New Jersey House Rep Jeff Van Drew. Van Drew is a recent convert and was a long time Democrat while in office. The Congressman made bold claims of an Iranian “mothership” (akin to an aircraft carrier) being off the East Coast of the United States. This mothership would serve as a place for the drones to land, refuel, and take off. This explanation made sense as drones were reported as going out into open water and then returning.
Although the Pentagon denies claims of Iranians being involved, they don’t have any other answer for the mysterious drone sightings in New Jersey and other places. Judging by Singh’s answer to the drone question, they are leaning more into the thought process that these drones are amateurs within the United States. Jeff Van Drew scoffed at such a notion, considering that these over six-foot-long and massive drones are not sold in the United States at all. And even if they were to be made overseas and make them into the hands of USA amateurs, the amount of fueling and other resources that such large aircraft would demand is totally out of reach for regular US citizens.
