Homelessness has risen by a staggering 18% in the United States in 2024. This comes on the heels of continuously disappointing news about the state of the economy. Jobs, housing, and inflation are all problem sectors in the US. The existing issues of economic pressures are worsened by the migrant crisis. Ironically, the influx of migrants was probably championed to defeat the issue with a labor shortage and inflation. The result of mass migration was an increase in homelessness, especially among family units which saw a 40% spike this year.
