Karen Bass, the Mayor of Los Angeles, was left speechless when asked a series of questions by a reporter about Southern California wildfires. Bass was just on a taxpayer-funded trip to Ghana amid the fires which have ravaged her constituents. Mainstream media and everyday people alike were outraged at not only her absence, but also the millions of dollars she cut from Los Angeles Fire Department. Also, there is growing anger at Mayor Bass and California Governor Gavin Newsom for a lack of preventative measures. President Trump has been speaking about forest maintenance and fire prevention for years. Other countries, unlike California, practice serious raking and other advanced forms of mitigating fire damage.
