Worcester, Massachusetts, City Councilor-At-Large, Thu Nguyen, has taken a month off the job over allegations of misgendering and transphobia from coworkers. Nguyen is newly elected and the first non-binary City Councilor in the city. Allegedly, co-workers referred to Nguyen by “incorrect” pronouns and also by the word “it”. Two women named in the complaint released statements. They both say that any “misgendering” that happened is simply a mistake and not in any way intentional.
