The City Council of Worcester, Massachusetts has voted to become a Sanctuary City for transgender and “gender diverse” people. This news comes on the heels of newly-elected City Councilor Thu Nguyen coming back to office. Nguyen made news recently after taking a month off of work over the stress of being non-binary at the new job. It is unclear what exactly a transgender sanctuary looks like in practice. However, quite a few people at a recent city council meeting were fired up about the topic. Video of the meeting is making its way around the internet and is going viral.
