Former NFL football player Chris Kluwe was arrested after a meltdown over a “MAGA” plaque in Huntington Beach, California. Kluwe played 8 years in the league, all with the Vikings as a punter. He is a well-known rabble rouser in the conservative Southern California city as a raging liberal. He has protested for several typical liberal issues such as transgender rights. The only time he has been arrested, however, was after he spoke about a proposed plaque for Huntington Beach Central Library.
The plaque had a “MAGA” acronym placed large on the front. Instead of “Make America Great Again”, the acronym stood for “Magical, Alluring, Galvanizing, and Adventurous.” Kluwe thought that this was too political and shouldn’t be emblazoned on the library for the 50th Anniversary commemoration. At the end of his brief talk, Kluwe decided to take a few aggressive steps toward where City Council members were sitting. He appeared to be threatening the members and he was quickly arrested by police.
