President Donald Trump’s administration is under fire after “war plans” were leaked via the communication app called “Signal.” Jeffrey Goldberg, a journalist with “The Atlantic” was “accidentally” added to a group chat which should have been for White House people only. Goldberg, of course, published a story detailing the contents of the leak. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz has taken responsibility, saying that he added Goldberg by mistake because his contact information was under someone else’s name. President Trump responded to the controversy, saying that leaks and mistakes like this can happen.
There is a lot of finger-pointing going on from the mainstream media and leftist politicians. Some point to this as an example of the incompetence of Team Trump. There are also some who say such a thing is inexcusable and it highlights a glaring hole in national security. It is safe to say, however, that The Atlantic would not have published this story if it happened the same way under the Biden Administration. The media and the left are adversarial against conservative politicians, especially those ushered in under the Trump era.
