Comedian and talk show host Jon Stewart was blown away by the revelation of $42 billion of apparent red tape & bureaucracy. On an episode of “The Weekly Show With Jon Stewart Podcast”, Stewart and his co-host spoke about the Government’s plan to expand broadband access to rural households. $42 billion has been allocated to fulfill this plan. However, in four years time there have been a grand total of zero homes connected with this money. The only increase in broadband access has been from private investment for profit. The first rollout of the Government-funded broadband access program isn’t expected until 2026.
