The Supreme Court has ruled that the Trump administration may invoke the “Alien Enemies Act”, enacted in 1798, to deport criminal migrant gangs. This will impact gangs such as the notorious group from Venezuelan, Tren de Aragua. President Trump has taken a ton of criticism over the practice of defying judges to deport known criminals from the United States since he has come back to office in 2025. One of the most popular cases was the “Maryland father” who was deported back to El Salvador. The news media reported that case as a “mistake”, implying that the man was not involved in criminal activity. In reality, he had been ICE’s radar since at least 2019 and was a known MS-13 gang member.
