CBS journalist Gayle King is offended at the term “ride” being used to describe her Blue Origin space trip. The “ride” to space from the Jeff Bezos-owned Blue Origin space vehicle lasted a grand total of 11 minutes. King was accompanied by a group of all women, including Katy Perry, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, ex-NASA engineer Aisha Bowe, film producer Kerianne Flynn, and, of course Lauren Sanchez who is Jeff Bezos’s girlfriend. The trip was viewed as historical by many people. There are just as many, if not more, who think this trip was frivolous and served no purpose.
