Frontier Airlines employees argued with a passenger at the ticketing counter in a wildly viral video that has divided the internet. Some think that the employees were rude and taunted the passenger while others think the passenger was entitled and also rude.
The issue stemmed from the (would-be) passenger arriving 50 minutes before his flight’s departure. He attempted to check in at the electronic kiosk but he was not able to because Frontier has a policy that says you are not allowed to check in after one hour before your flight. The man, a 45-year-old father of three, attempted to speak to the agents at the desk to assist him in checking in. They were going to help him but they informed him of Frontier Airlines’ “agent fee” policy.
In order to get assistance from a Frontier Airlines gate agent, passengers are required to pay $25. This revelation started a 20-minute back and forth over the fee and if he would be allowed to check in or not. A less than two-minute video from this conversation was uploaded online and went viral. Ultimately, the man was not able to board the Frontier flight and spent $500 to fly Jet Blue from Raleigh, North Carolina to Boston. Massachusetts. According to the New York Post, the man contacted Frontier and was able to get a refund for the flight he missed.
