Ben Cohen, the co-founder of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, was arrested during a Senate Hearing featuring RFK, Jr. Cohen says that the dustup wasn’t really about RFK Jr. himself, rather it was about the Israel / Palestine conflict. Specifically, Cohen was upset with what is happening in the Gaza Strip. The ice cream mogul says that citizens of Gaza are being deprived of basic essential goods such as food while being bombed by American munitions. There are other people who say his protest and subsequent arrest happened due to RFK Jr.’s efforts to clean up the food industry by banning certain dyes and preservatives… some of the very things that Ben & Jerry’s ice cream most certainly relies upon.
