Two Israeli Embassy employees where shot by a pro-Palestine protester at the Capitol Jewish Museum. The museum is located in Washington, D.C., and there was an event honoring young diplomats happening at the time. The victims are 30-year-old Yaron Lischinsky, 30, who grew up in Israel and Germany, and Sarah Milgrim, 26, who was from Kansas. They were a couple and Yaron planned to propose to Sarah next week on a trip to Israel.
30-year-old Elias Rodriguez is the suspect in custody. Witnesses say that he was at the aforementioned event at the museum before he approached a group of four people and opened fire. Two of the four were unfortunately killed. After Rodriguez committed this senseless act of violence, he entered the museum where he was apprehended by event security. Video of the arrest has hit the internet and Rodriguez can be heard chanting “free Palestine.”
