Big Tech CEO Dario Amodei says that artificial intelligence, also known as A.I., will replace 50% of all entry-level white-collar jobs within five years. The jobs affected will mostly be tasks that do not require in-person human-to-human connection such as tech, law, and electronic customer service. Amodei is the CEO of Anthropic which is behind the chatbot “Claude”. Some would say Amodei’s statements are classic fear-mongering meant to support his own business endeavors while others say the writing is on the wall for low-level white collar jobs.

A.I. is designed to think, learn, and adapt. The technology has been advancing rapidly over the past few years and many jobs that humans had in the past are no longer available. This trend will continue in the future. Experts say that people should focus on “A.I.-proof” jobs if they wish to have job security. Examples of such jobs would be anything that requires in-person connection, such as service-based industries and/or building things by hand.
