Authorities have identified a suspect in the deadly Coeur d’Alene, Idaho firefighter ambush. SWAT rushed a location and found 20-year-old Wess Roley with a firearm close to him. It is unclear if he claimed his own life or if he was shot by someone else. Local police did encourage locals to take a shot if they have him in their sight before he was ultimately found deceased. There is a theory that there could be more than one shooter, but that is not likely.
This is the apparent conclusion of a story that began with a brush fire on Sunday. Firefighters were called to the location of the eventual ambush to extinguish the flames of the fire. It is suspected that Wess Roley set the fire himself and lured authorities to the scene. Upon arriving, firefighters were immediately fired upon by an unknown person. At least two men were killed and several others were injured. This caused a massive response from police and fire. As the fire on the mountain raged on, SWAT swooped in on the suspects location and found his dead body.
