Raja Jackson, the son of MMA fighter Rampage Jackson, nearly beat a small promotion wrestler to death on live stream in Los Angeles. Raja and Rampage are both streamers on an up-and-coming platform as well as professional MMA fighters. During a stream, Raja was introduced to a wrestlers from a small promotion, the WWE ID-affiliated “KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy”. Since Raja was streaming, he had a cameraman with him. One of the wrestlers named “Syko Stu” (Stuart Smith) hit Raja in the head with a beer can upon his arrival, thinking that it was a “work” or part of the wrestling promotion.

There was no immediate physical retaliation from Raja. Instead, they were able to have a conversation in which all of the wrestlers apologized for the misunderstanding, including Syko Stu. Unfortunately, the wrestlers invited Raja to get his “lick back” in the wrestling ring. It was scripted for Raja to interrupt Syko Stu’s match, but what came next was unanticipated by many. Raja slammed Stuart Smith on the mat, instantly knocking him unconscious. He then proceeded to hit the defenseless man in the head nearly 20 times before being pulled off of him.

Andrew Smith, Stuart’s brother, said in a Facebook post late Aug. 24 that the wrestler was “stable but in critical care.” He added that the family has not set up a GoFundMe as of the post made just before 9 p.m. PT.
