Investigators still not successful in their search nearly two weeks after Nancy Guthrie, the mother of TV star Savannah Guthrie, disappeared, apparently kidnapped, now are asking to speak to a man who was caught on video several miles away on the night of the disappearance, with a backpack.

Law enforcement officers also have been seen scouring nearby roads for evidence, as well as close by sections of desert.

A report at Fox News said the FBI and officers in the Pima County sheriff’s office “want to question a man seen carrying a backpack in surveillance video recorded just miles from Nancy Guthrie’s home around the same time she disappeared…”

The report noted, “The man seen in the video appears to be dressed similarly to an individual captured in a separate doorbell video at Guthrie’s home, including wearing a backpack.”

Officers also were seen “searching the brush off a road near Nancy Guthrie’s home early Thursday morning” after they found a set of gloves near the home.

It remains undetermined if they are a match to the ones worn by a masked individual seen on a doorbell camera footage.

According to NBC, Guthrie was dropped off at her home Jan. 31 and was reported missing the next day when she didn’t show up to a watch a streamed church service at a friend’s home.

Officers have gotten thousands of tips and a tent, often erected for officers to examine forensic evidence sites closely, was erected near Guthrie’s home, then taken down later.

And neighbors within a couple of miles are being asked if they have any doorbell camera video of the pertinent times for officers to review.

The woman has limited mobility and takes medication but has no cognitive issues, authorities have reported.

Sheriff Chris Nanos said, “It’s a challenge for her to get, as the family says, she couldn’t walk 50 yards by herself,” citing a pacemaker she uses.

The FBI also is reviewing ransom notes and communications.

Authorities have confirmed they believe Guthrie was taken against her will.

Hundreds of officers have become involved in the search.
