An anti-ICE protest at a Washington state high school is going viral as one of the students arrested is shown having an epic meltdown, screaming “I want my mommy!” as she’s taken into custody by police.

The incident took place Friday at Enumclaw High School, as a walkout protesting federal immigration officers ended with the arrest of two students after an alleged assault, according to the Courier-Herald.

Charges of fourth degree assault, obstruction, and resisting arrest have been recommended for the first suspect, and obstruction for the second, police indicated.

Enumclaw Police Chief Timothy Floyd said: “Many individuals who participated in the recent protest did so with passion and a genuine desire to be heard, and that matters in a healthy democracy.”

“At the same time, our officers have a responsibility to maintain public safety for everyone – protestors, bystanders, business owners and residents. The arrests that occurred were not about silencing voices or viewpoints. … Being involved in a protest does not give one a free pass to commit crimes.”

Floyd added he was “extremely proud” of his officers’ response as “they showed teamwork, professionalism and restraint while getting pushed, kicked at, spit at and called significantly derogatory names. Assaultive behavior towards an EPD officer will not be tolerated, ignored or go undealt with.”

The one girl who pleaded to be with her “mommy” is getting plenty of reaction online.

Laura Ingraham of Fox News said: “The fact that young people behave like this in public schools – or any other schools – is APPALLING. Imagine the parents who model this conduct. Imagine the teachers who encourage it.”

Juanita Broaddrick, who has accused former President Clinton of sexually assaulting her, noted, “These kids are being used by teachers and other activist adults as props.”
