Jasmine Crockett’s Security Guard Fatally Shot by Dallas Police in Armed Standoff

A man known publicly as Mike King, who served on the security detail for U.S. Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas), was fatally shot by Dallas Police SWAT officers during an armed standoff on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.

According to multiple reports from sources including CBS News Texas, FOX 4, and others, the incident occurred after police attempted to serve an active warrant on King for impersonating a peace officer. King, who had been using aliases, fled and barricaded himself inside a vehicle in the parking garage of Children’s Health hospital in Dallas. Officers deployed tear gas to force him out. Upon exiting the vehicle, he reportedly pulled a gun on the officers, prompting them to open fire. No officers were injured in the encounter.

Law enforcement sources identified the man as 39-year-old Diamon-Mazairre Robinson, though he was publicly known as Mike King. He operated a business called Off Duty Police Services, which connected North Texas officers with off-duty job opportunities, while allegedly concealing his criminal background, including prior felony convictions. Images from events and Crockett’s recent U.S. Senate campaign trail (which she lost) showed him standing close to the congresswoman, providing security both in Texas and Washington, D.C.

The Dallas Police Department has described the event as an officer-involved shooting stemming from the suspect’s actions during the standoff. Rep. Crockett’s office has not publicly commented on the incident or King’s employment history. Authorities continue to investigate how a wanted fugitive with a history of impersonating law enforcement was able to work in a security capacity associated with a member of Congress, raising questions about vetting processes for such roles.
