The Dallas Police Department has released bodycam footage from the fatal officer-involved shooting of Diamon-Mazairre Robinson, also known as Mike King, who had served as part of U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s security detail.

The incident occurred on March 11, 2026, in the parking garage of Children’s Medical Center Dallas. Police were attempting to serve a warrant on Robinson for impersonating a law enforcement officer, amid reports he had used aliases to integrate into security and law enforcement circles despite a criminal history that included theft charges, probation violations, tampering with government records, and an active warrant related to check theft.

Robinson, 39, reportedly operated a business called Off Duty Police Services, which connected off-duty officers to security jobs, and had been a visible member of Crockett’s protection team—appearing alongside her at events during her time in Congress and her recent U.S. Senate campaign. Sources indicate Crockett’s office paid him for security services as recently as the previous year.

According to police accounts and details emerging from the released footage, officers followed Robinson to the hospital garage, where he barricaded himself inside a vehicle (a GMC Yukon with stolen government plates). Dallas SWAT responded, deploying tear gas in an effort to resolve the standoff peacefully. After refusing commands to exit, Robinson emerged armed with a firearm and pointed it at officers, prompting them to open fire. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were injured, and investigators confirmed Robinson did not discharge his weapon.

The bodycam video, shared publicly by the department and circulated on platforms like X (with clips posted by accounts covering crime and police incidents), captures key moments of the confrontation, including the deployment of less-lethal measures and the final escalation. Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux oversaw the release to promote transparency in the officer-involved shooting.

The case has raised questions about vetting processes for congressional security personnel, given Robinson’s concealed background and use of aliases. Rep. Crockett has not issued public comments on the matter as of the latest reports. The Dallas Police Department continues its investigation, which is standard procedure for such incidents.
