Joy Reid of MSNBC did not appreciate the alleged Trump joke about annexing Canada. She says his alleged comments fall in line with what they have been saying about him for a long time… that he aspires to be a dictator and ruler of the world. This news comes after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited President Donald Trump at Mar-A-Lago in Florida. Joy Reid says the visit was to try and convince Trump to not impose a 25% tariff on goods from Canada.
Fox News reports two people who were at the dinner table said Trump’s response to Trudeau’s complaints about the tariffs was the joke in question. Trump allegedly stated that if Canada cannot survive without ripping off the United States to the tune of $100 billion per year, then maybe the United States should annex Canada as the 51st state… of which Trudeau could become Governor. The reaction was reportedly nervous laughter but no true kickback.
