Senator Chris Van Hollen, a Democrat from Maryland, visited El Salvador with the hopes of “retrieving” the “mistakenly” deported Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Van Hollen abruptly arrived in the Central American nation without making prior arrangements to visit the CECOT prison where Garcia is being held. At first, he was rebuffed by the Salvadoran Vice President when he attempted to meet Garcia. He was finally able to meet the man and the pictures were surreal. Garcia appeared before him dressed casually, in jeans, short sleeve button-up shirt, and a baseball cap.
The “mistakenly” deported man did not appear malnourished or tortured. Van Hollen, Garcia, and what appeared to be an interpreter slash Government aide sat at a table and spoke over margaritas. Meanwhile, the mother of Rachel Morin, Patty, met with President Trump at the White House. Rachel Morin was killed by an illegal alien in Maryland back in 2023. Patty Morin spoke at the White House and stated that it is absurd for Van Hollen to take her taxpayer money to pay for a trip to El Salvador to retrieve a gang member who was in Maryland illegally.
