Transgender Track Runner Speaks Out After Criticism Of Dominant High School Track Meet Performance

Champion high school track runner Veronica Garcia has spoken out after criticism of this weekend’s performance. The biological male Garcia now identifies as female and has been competing against biological women for at least the past two years. Several parents and supporters of women’s rights have been protesting the track meets Garcia and other transgender athletes compete at. The prevailing thought process is that men are “becoming” women in order to level the playing field for themselves by imposing their unfair biological advantages onto women. Some people think that the bias against transgender people is rooted in hate and not science. Local, national, and international committees all over the world have made some attempts to find middle ground with the transgender community on the issue without much success. If a biological man competes against a woman, no amount of hormone therapy or any other drugs will ever close that advantage gap.
