President Trump on Friday commuted the sentence of former GOP Rep. George Santos.

Santos has been a target of the Democrats and RINOs since he won his election in New York in 2022.

On Friday, President Trump said Santos will be immediately released from prison.

“George Santos was somewhat of a “rogue,” but there are many rogues throughout our Country that aren’t forced to serve seven years in prison. I started to think about George when the subject of Democrat Senator Richard “Da Nang Dick” Blumenthal came up again. As everyone remembers, “Da Nang” stated for almost twenty years that he was a proud Vietnam Veteran, having endured the worst of the War, watching the Wounded and Dead as he raced up the hills and down the valleys, blood streaming from his face. He was “a Great Hero,” he would leak to any and all who would listen — And then it happened! He was a COMPLETE AND TOTAL FRAUD. He never went to Vietnam, he never saw Vietnam, he never experienced the Battles there, or anywhere else. His War Hero status, and even minimal service in our Military, was totally and completely MADE UP,” Trump said on Truth Social on Friday.

This is far worse than what George Santos did, and at least Santos had the Courage, Conviction, and Intelligence to ALWAYS VOTE REPUBLICAN! George has been in solitary confinement for long stretches of time and, by all accounts, has been horribly mistreated. Therefore, I just signed a Commutation, releasing George Santos from prison, IMMEDIATELY. Good luck George, have a great life!” President Trump said on Friday.

Former Congressman George Santos pleaded guilty to two felony counts of wire fraud and identity theft in August 2024.

Santos was sentenced to seven years in prison.

George Santos was previously hit with a 23-count superseding indictment.

“Santos Allegedly Filed Fraudulent Fundraising Reports with the FEC to Obtain Financial Support for His Campaign and Repeatedly Charged the Credit Cards of Campaign Contributors Without Authorization” – the DOJ said in a press release.

“Santos allegedly led multiple additional fraudulent criminal schemes, lying to the American public in the process. The FBI is committed to upholding the laws of our electoral process. Anyone who attempts to violate the law as part of a political campaign will face punishment in the criminal justice system,” stated FBI Assistant Director-in-Charge Smith.

Recall that George Santos was charged and arrested in May 2023 after a federal jury returned a 13-count indictment.

Santos was charged with 7 counts of wire fraud, 3 counts of money laundering, and one count of theft of public funds in May 2023.

According to the May indictment reviewed by The Gateway Pundit, Santos was overcharged by zealous government prosecutors.

Santos was hit with five counts for “wire fraud” for engaging in a political contribution solicitation scheme.

George Santos spoke to the press outside the courthouse last year.

“I failed you,” Santos said.
